A new way to share a moment on Driftya, one tiny pixel at a time.
Not every note needs words. Sometimes a photograph can say enough on its own.
Today, we're introducing PixelPhoto, a new way to create notes on Driftya using photographs transformed into tiny pieces of pixel art.
From a photograph to a pixel note
Choose a photo from your device or take a new one with your camera. Move it around, zoom in, and decide which part of the moment you want to keep.
Driftya transforms your selection into a 32×32 pixel image using no more than 32 colors.
That's just 1,024 pixels.
A landscape becomes a handful of colors. A familiar face becomes a tiny portrait. Even an ordinary moment can take on a different character when most of its details disappear.
You can preview your creation before sharing it.
Three ways to create a note
With PixelPhoto, Driftya now offers three ways to express yourself:
- Text: Write a short note in your own words.
- Doodle: Draw something yourself, pixel by pixel.
- PixelPhoto: Turn a photograph into a little piece of pixel art.
You can switch between them while composing, choosing whichever feels right for what you want to share.
Your photo stays yours
The original photograph isn't uploaded to Driftya. The conversion happens on your device, and only the small pixel artwork is submitted.
Your PixelPhoto then follows the same note lifecycle as other notes, including public or private visibility.
It can arrive in someone's hands, become part of an exchange, and continue drifting.
Small by design
PixelPhoto isn't about creating the sharpest image or preserving every detail.
It's about keeping just enough.
A place you visited. Something you found beautiful. A moment that would otherwise disappear among thousands of photos.
Now you can turn it into a tiny note and let it travel.
Try PixelPhoto at Driftya.
One little picture. A moment shared. A note that keeps moving.
