Why Driftya does not use likes
Driftya does not use likes because likes rarely create real interaction. A like moves in one direction and often leaves the meaning unclear. Instead, Driftya focuses on replies. A reply adds something tangible to the conversation and carries the message forward between people.
Driftya does not use likes because they do not actually give much back to the person who clicks them.
In real life, when you compliment someone, you can see their reaction. The other person smiles, maybe says thank you, and that moment creates a small shared feeling. Both sides get something from it.
A like on social media does not really work that way. It mostly moves in one direction. The person who gives the like rarely sees what happens next. There is no reaction, no conversation, and usually no response from the creator.
In many cases the creator cannot reply to the like at all.
A reply is different. A reply leaves something tangible behind. It adds a thought, a reaction, or even just a small continuation of the moment. The exchange becomes visible and meaningful to both people.
Likes can also be confusing. When a post gets two or three likes but no replies, it is hard to know what those likes actually meant. Did someone really connect with what was written, or did they just tap the button while scrolling?
Without a reply, it is difficult to tell.
Driftya focuses on replies instead. A reply carries a piece of the conversation forward, and that continuation becomes the real signal that something resonated.
